Don't Panic
Nashvile Storm Update
Coach Donnie Carter's Last Game
Riverdale

Hey Gang! We are still winning, but we have a huge one tonight.

I have some great topics, so let's jump in and get going.

Don't Panic
Don’t panic still a ton of recruiting to be done.  The final time to take the ACT prior to National Signing Day has already happened.  The final time for kids GPA to be pulled prior to National Signing Day is 2Q.  National Signing Day is 2/7/07.

A lot of kids will not qualify in order to sign on that day.  You as a recruit or a parent must understand the colleges are under a lot of pressure.  College Football is all about the money.  They will not recruit borderline prospects.

I know there are a bunch of what I call tier 2 recruits who are worried but are qualified.  Hang tight we have a ways to go.

Nashville Storm Update
The Storm did not win the big one, as they lost to the Dallas Express 24-19.

I enjoyed calling their games and have heard from several players that will be back for another shot at Disney World.  They have a good chance. I look forward to being a part of the whole scene.  Storm, I will see you in June or late May.

Coach Donnie Carter's Last Game
The following story link is a great article written by David Boclair of the Daily News Journal regarding 30 years of coaching Donnie Carter.

Riverdale
The biggest game of the year is tonight at 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.

1450 AM - Smyrna @ Riverdale <- Click to Listen LIVE

We are headed to the reservation.  Yes, our hopes and dreams ended last year at the reservation. Their stadium is a very intimidating place to play.  The weather is not going to be warm like it was last Friday Night.

Can we win?  Yes, anything can happen.  The Bulldogs can't make many mistakes.  They must execute extremely well.  I predict it to be close.

I wish the team all the best.  I have watched a lot of them play since they were 7 and 8 years old.  Win, Lose or Draw a huge piece of my football life will die when 2006 comes to an end.  I know something else new will also be born that will run its course in 2007.

That's A Wrap
Well, that's a wrap.

As always, tonight I will high above the press box taking it all in.

If you see me just give a shout.

God Bless and Take Care

The Storm
Youth Football & Coach Donnie Carter
Playoffs - La Vergne @ Home

What a glorious day here in Tennessee. The weather is hitting 73, it's just great!

Ok, enough of that, I have 3 great topics, so let's roll.

The Storm
Congrats to the Nashville Storm they are playing in Orlando tomorrow and I hope the best for them. They are in the National Championship for Amateur Football. The league is known as the NAFL.
Many praises to Patrick Abernathy for letting me announce and film for the Storm.
I wish I could be in Disney with the team but I am spread a little thin this weekend.
I think a big championship ring would look good on my finger.

Youth Football & Coach Donnie Carter
Tomorrow is also the championship for the TYFA and I have been contacted to be the announcer for those games.

I cut my teeth in youth and learned a lot back in the DAY-O about football. I have six games all back to back starting at 9:00 and the last game kicks off at 7:30.

It will also be the game for Coach Donnie Carter. He has coached 12 year old kids since 1969. He has over 300 wins and several championships. A part of me will die tomorrow as Coach Carter hangs it up. He can take 5 plays and 11 disciplined kids and just beat you like a drum. 42 cross-buck on one and everybody block.

On behalf of all the kids who ever played for you "Thanks Coach".

Playoffs - La Vergne @ Home
Well tonight is the second round and we are still alive.

LaVergne will come over to the dog pound for this one.

The message boards have been busy, but we will settle it on the field.

I like our chances.

That's A Wrap
Well, that's a wrap.

As always, tonight I will high above the press box taking it all in.

If you see me just give a shout.

God Bless and Take Care

Rising to the Moment
I want to be a Star
Coffe County

Did you enjoy Halloween ?

It's Friday Night in Tennessee and we are ready for some playoff time action !

Rising to the Moment
The season starts all over tonight. If you lose its over, If you win, you get to come back the following Friday Night and play some more.

There are kids out there that are just like the people in your office or work place. You put the light directly on them and they literally rise to the moment. They are aggressive individuals that take control and make things happen. You give them a normal walk thru the park exercise and they will do it. But not like when the band is playing, the crowd is roaring, and the lights are shining.

When you have practiced hard, and are really prepared for this moment, you love it. When I am given a project at work that have timelines that are aggressive, there is no room for error. I like it. I tend to deliver. Why? It's all about the show.

I want to be a Star
There are a lot of kids that stand on sideline and they want so badly to be a Star. I know a lot of lineman that want to be a star. Last night, the University of Louisville beat West Virginia up and down the field. They played great defense, and really came to play. The end of the game resulted in goal post being brought to the ground and fans rushing the field to jump on the Cardinal.

They also interviewed Brian Brohm. Click HERE for Brian Brohm Profile He was the star of the show. He played great. They did not find a lineman, or a kicker, they usually go for the Quarterback or the Running back for the interview. Quarterbacks and Running Backs take the risk that comes along with the position they play, no different than the CEO of a company. They can also get the headaches of the light shined right on them daily. A lot of people just can't handle it.

Coffee County
We take on the Raiders tonight.

Of course, Jake Nunley who graced our website back in 2003 and ran for over 4,000 career yards, hails from this school.

I am looking forward to tonight. I hope that those of you who are close, come out to watch. It has been a ride. We will see who gets a ticket to come back next week and dance again.

That's A Wrap
Well, that's a wrap.

I hope to see you at the game, be sure and dress warm, it's going to be cold.

God Bless and Take Care
